THE Scottish Government’s newly created Patient Safety Commissioner [for Scotland] is toothless and powerless to stop future health scandals, campaigners claim.
Pat Kelly, who was left in constant pain by rogue NHS Tayside surgeon Sam Eljamel, has criticised the new post as it doesn’t have the authority to bring about criminal investigations.
The 64-year old contacted the government to clarify what powers the independent watchdog would have.
