A Tayside surgeon has fallen on his sword before a hearing to decide his medical future.
Profressor Muftah Salem Eljamel was being investigated by the General Medical Council (GMC) after he was suspended from Ninewells last year.
Mr Eljamel, who subsequently retired from NHS Tayside, risked being struck off by the GMC but has now relinquished his licence to practise within days of the hearing.
